Half year check in/Highlights
As we enter the second half of our Rotary 2021-22 year, here is a list of the highlights from the last six months. For picture of some of this events, please check the 2021-22 photo album available on our website:
We continued our weekly food deliveries for Meals on Wheels – nearly 400 this year so far (550+ since we started)
In July, we had another successful New Shoes for School event
In August, We had our first ever San Leandro Rotary Endowment Paella Fundraiser (we fundraised more than $13,000)
In August, several members volunteered for a Creek clean up day
In September, several members participated in the Area 4's service project Kids Against Hunger
In October, we did a Pumpkin and Goodie donation to Building Futures
In November, we participated in a Fall Planting project to help beautify Downtown San Leandro
Also in Novemer, Amy and Jennifer chaperoned the Interactor Fall Leadership Conference
In December, se sponshored the replacement of vandalized holiday Nutcrackers (with a $3,200 donation). This helps with public visibility: the logo will be on Nutcrackers for the next 2 years (possibly three).
In December also, we supported Davis Street by volunteering at their gift and food distribution days
We supported Girl Scout Troup by providing a microwave for a move-in kit for a Building Futures client to move into their new home
We ponsored 6 Interactors for the 2022 President's Winter Retreat
We sponsored 3 Interactors for RYLA
We secured stable/nice meeting location. We are meeting now at the newly renovated San Leandro Boys and Girls Club facility
We had two fabulous mixers: October at the Fair and Jeopardy with Interactors
We are doingsSignificant progress in transitioning financials to the Online QuickBooks platform
And last but not least, on December 26, we turned 95! We will celebrate in January.

SAVE the date - Rotary San leandro Crab Feast:
Our annual crab feast fundraiser will be on February 5th, 2022. It will be a drive-thru event similar to last year. More details to come.
