Melissa Espinoza, Youth Svc Prg Mgr, SAVE
2021 Community Grant Recipient - Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments (SAVE) supporting schools
Melisssa Espinoza is the Youth Services Program Manager at Safe Alternatives for Violent Environments (SAVE) in Fremont. Prior to joining SAVE, Melissa was part of several prevention initiatives in Oakland. Most notably, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Dating Matters Initiative and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Start Strong: Building Healthy Teen Relationships Initiative. She has a fierce passion for social justice and working with underserved youth, as she herself entered the prevention world as an at-risk youth. The prevention bug bit her as she's been working for ~ thirteen years and plans to continue working in this realm!  
 
Melissa is a graduate of CSU Eastbay with an M.A. in Public Administration. In her free time, she enjoys a good cup of coffee, road trips, and a great book.
 
SAVE provides a comprehensive range of direct services to people experiencing domestic violence, from immediate crisis intervention to long-term supportive services.
